MT4/MT5 Basics
Install, add server, log in and use EAs.
Install & Login
1) Download MT4/MT5 from your firm's dashboard or official site 2) File → Login to Trade Account 3) Enter the server (e.g. FTMO-Server) plus login and password 4) Balance appears top-left
Important: use the firm's server, not the default MetaQuotes demo server.
EAs & Common Actions
- EAs: put .ex4/.ex5 files into MQL4/MQL5 → Experts, refresh, drag to chart
- Close all: toolbar button or right-click
- Lot size: edit the Lots field in the trade panel
- Some firms ban or restrict EAs — check the rules first
